Shooting a wedding in the Eastern Sierras has been a dream of ours since we started our business and this year we made it a reality! Savannah and Jordan chose the Double Eagle Resort and Spa in June Lake, California for their wedding location. It is nestled in the corner of the June Lake Loop, an iconic drive (especially during the fall months) just north of Mammoth Lakes. The Double Eagle sits amongst hundreds of aspen and pine trees with cabins sprinkled throughout the property and the towering crags of the Sierra Nevada mountains thousands of feet above.

They wanted their wedding to feel more like a kick-back weekend with all their people filled with camping, river hangs, and good music than all the traditional stuff. And, it was all that and more.

They are the sweetest couple who love the outdoors and their darling pup, Brady, all of which were incorporated into their day. Hayley and Stephen were cool as cucumbers as they got ready with their wedding party and family in the San Pedro Harbor. It was a classic spring foggy morning and just as we were leaving for the chapel the sun made her debut, making for some gorgeous bouncing light in the chapel.

Read MoreInspiration is something Lynds and I seek thoroughly in our work and this day takes the cake for one of our most inspiring weddings we’ve shot. Having grown up very close to Casie and Matt’s venue, I never thought that I could be so inspired by Walnut Grove. You see, at a certain point, things around my hometown began losing their photographic luster. I guess you could say I was jaded and uninspired. We were so excited for Casie and Matt and their big day last fall.

Even though we had some fog, these two lit up the evening with their sweet, playful personalities and connection. We got to hear all about their first date, which took place almost 7 years ago... a moonlit paddle where they were casually accompanied by a whale! It only makes sense that these two adventurous souls would have such an insane first date experience.

Tommy grew up in both the mountains and the beaches of Southern California. Although his home was in Mammoth, every summer his parents would drag him to Zuma beach, were he’d follow around/bug the older lifeguards, learn to body surf, catch seagulls and eventually become an ocean lifeguard.
