Northern California Engagements // Kortni & Jason
Excited be back on our website updating game and to finally share some of the many images we’ve been storing the past few months! This fall and winter have been crazy busy in the best way. We’ve gotten to work with some incredible couples, families, kiddos and babies - and some for the second or third time! With the turning of the New Year, its given us time to breath, reflect and process. With that has come overwhelming feelings of gratitude for all the growth that took place, both personally and professionally, in 2016. If your reading this - want to give a big shout out of THANKS for the continued support and encouragement of our work - what we create would truly not be possible without it!!!
Hands down one of our favorite and most cherished shoots of the year took place in Northern California this past November. My (Lynds.) best friend of 22 years (FINALLY) got engaged to her soulmate after they started dating 13 years ago!!! Jason popped the question at a quiet beach just north of San Francisco where he is currently living and working. With such a special engagement spot, we knew we had to return for their engagement photos!
It’s goes without saying that we love a good adventure and NorCal is an area of our beautiful state we aren't terribly familiar with. That being said we had some spots we wanted to make sure we stopped at to capture this beautiful couple. There’s nothing better than diving into the unknown to find yourself surrounded with endless amounts of incredible scenery; inspiration lurking around every corner. Northern California is a special place and Kort and Jas were down for some good ol’ Thornton exploration!
So here’s how it went…
We bombed our way to San Francisco to meet at Jason’s apartment that sits in the groaning gut of the San Francisco. We spent the night snuggled up like sardines in the cozy studio.
The next morning Kort and Jason surprised us with the city’s best damn breakfast sandwiches and strong coffee to prep for the day ahead. I’d like to digress for a moment and say that this couple contains two of the best souls in the world. They are generous, loving and kindhearted; truly stamped out of the midwest mold - where we all grew up together!
Well fed and caffeinated, we sped north to the Marin Headlands and beyond for a multi location day that ended in Mill Valley, where we, once again, cozied up at a tiny Italian restaurant with just enough room for a bottle of wine and our tired bodies. The weekend ended with Lynds getting asked to be Kort’s Matron of Honor in their Colorado wedding next July. Needless to say, there were tears of joy, hugs and SO much love shared. Can’t WAIT to get these two married later this year!!!!! Love you both!!!
