Alabama Wedding at Pursell Farms // Mackenzie & Hunter
It’s been over two years since this incredible wedding weekend and I still have butterflies thinking about all the joy and love that was shared for Mackenzie & Hunter back in February 2020! How did a photography couple from Southern California end up shooting a wedding in the deep south, you may be wondering?
Well, Geoff and I hired Mackenzie and her sister, Tyler, to create the website you are looking at right now. They have an incredible website design business, M Modern, and created basically a total custom site for us back in 2018. Mackenzie & Tyler are as talented and brilliant as they are beautiful, from the inside out. We adore them. So, when we saw an email land in our inbox about shooting Mackenzie’s wedding, not only were thrilled for her and her beau, Hunter, but also BEYOND honored to be chosen to document their special day.
Geoff and I have captured weddings in every corner of the United States and many states in between, and it’s so cool to see how things are done, both the same and different, from place to place. Mackenzie & Hunter’s wedding was modern and classy, with little bohemian touches throughout. Mackenzie and her sweet family spent the year leading up to the wedding collecting pampas grass from around her hometown that was used in all of the decor created by the lovely ladies of Edelweiss Design House. Mackenzie also worked with Kara Anne Paper to create custom invite suites that were individually hand-dipped with gold leaf edging. They had three different sets of live music that created such a fun and electric atmosphere all weekend long. Geoff and I got to stay in the Hamilton House, a stunning restored home built in 1852, where we shot many of their detail photos. Every intentional detail and every sweet moment made for an unforgettable celebration for Mackenzie and Hunter!
Not surprisingly, their wedding received quite a bit of press and was published both in print in Entertain & Celebrate Magazine AND online at Carats and Cake!
