The Oaks Room at Calamigos Ranch // Olivia & Ben
Olivia and Ben were married this past November in the Oaks Room at Calamigos Ranch. The Oaks Room is an intimate venue with a dual indoor/outdoor space, making it perfect for a late season wedding. It was a warm and cozy celebration by fireside. The decor can be summed up in one word: FALL! Deep reds, creams, greenery, and pampas grass! Karen, of Wish Wonder Dream, coordinated the day and Blossom Floral decked out the space with her floral creations. Sound Wave Pros got the dancing going and even brought in some CO2 canons for Oli and Ben to play with. It made for one crazy party!
Olivia and Ben’s wedding was a perfect mix of traditional and non-traditional. Before their western ceremony, they had a Vietnamese Tea Ceremony with their parents and close family members. Olivia was absolutely stunning in her custom Ao Dai. It was beautiful to see everyone sharing their love and congratulations in an intimate setting before the rest of their guests arrived. Olivia was a champion bride and changed from her BHLDN gown into her Ao Dai, and back again, a few times throughout the day. So impressive!
These two have a long love story. They’ve been together for over a decade, through college, graduate school, long distance, and have seen each other through challenges and many life transitions. Just from being around them, the love they share for each other is so very evident and grounded. Their wedding was as much about each other as it was about including their family members. It was truly two tribes coming together around these amazing individuals. They are also one of the most hospitable and selfless couples we’ve worked with. Throughout their wedding they were constantly asking US if we needed anything and encouraged us take breaks throughout their reception. We were blown away! Their wedding party even gave us chips and hotdogs from the late night snack table provided by Mommy’s Fingers. Little things like this leave the biggest impression on us.
