Laura & Don's Franciscan Gardens Wedding

Laura and Don’s beautiful Franciscan Gardens wedding was such a special day to cap off our 2017 wedding season. We’re so happy to finally share it!

I know we've said it before, but it's worth repeating: fall weddings will forever hold a special place in our hearts. We don’t get much as far as a change of season’s here in Southern California, but there is something so magical about the subtle shift of light and crispness in the air during fall.

Arriving to Franciscan Gardens on Laura & Don's wedding day was a little like reconnecting with old friends and family. We were lucky enough to have captured the bride’s sister's wedding over the summer of 2017, and thus, had the opportunity to become close (and quite fond!) of the whole Ianniello clan. We feel incredibly honored to have been a part of such a big, celebratory year for this amazing family!

Franciscan Gardens is nestled in the tiny old-town of San Juan Capistrano… think: swallows, live walls of greenery, exposed brick, old adobe’s, the smell of the ocean just down the road, and one of the biggest and most beautiful Mission’s in all of California. A wedding paradise that feels special and quaint. Perfect for Laura and Don!

As mentioned, we first met Laura & Don at her sisters' wedding over the summer, but we really hit it off and got to know them at one of our pre-wedding meetings in DTLA. It was so fun hearing about their love story and journey together. But the main thing that stuck out to us, was their support for each other. With Laura having to get a last-minute surgery just weeks before their wedding, they really had to rely on each other to get through an already high-stress time. Don was incredibly attentive, attuned and supportive to his girl. All things that indicated that these two are true soulmates and life partners.

Some favorite moments from their wedding day include: sneaking off to the Mission for their first look, running around the Los Rios Historic District with their fun and energetic wedding party, and witnessing Laura & Don say their teary vows in front of the most beautiful live wall and intimate group of family and friends. Wish we could do it all over again!
